Explore Our Private Woodland Trails on
200 Acres
Fishing may be at the heart of The Franklin Club, but there is plenty to discover beyond the water. Across the Club’s private 200-acre property, woodland trails wind through mature forest, quiet clearings and changing landscapes that reveal a different side of the grounds with every visit.
Members, their families and guests can set out for a peaceful morning walk, stretch their legs after lunch or spend an afternoon exploring at an easy pace. The trails offer space to slow down, listen to the forest and enjoy the simple pleasure of being outdoors, whether you are walking together, heading out on your own or taking a quiet break between other Club activities.
Each season brings something new to the experience. Spring fills the woods with fresh growth and birdsong, summer offers cool shade beneath the canopy, autumn brings rich colour across the property, and winter opens the trails to snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. A walk through the forest can become part of a full day at the Club, paired with fishing, dining, time by the water or an overnight stay.
The trails are not simply a way to move through the property. They are part of what makes The Franklin Club feel removed from the pace of everyday life, offering members another way to connect with nature, with one another and with the Club itself.
Discover the Purcell Trail and South 70
The Purcell Trail offers a defined path through the woodland, making it ideal for a peaceful walk, a family outing or a little time outdoors between other Club activities.
The South 70 carries on through a quieter and more rustic part of the property for members who want to explore a little farther.
There is no need to rush. Take in the changing landscape, listen to the forest and enjoy the property at your own pace.
Four Seasons on the Trails
The experience changes with the property. New growth and birdsong arrive in spring, the forest canopy provides shade in summer, autumn brings rich seasonal colour, and winter opens the trails to snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
Summer
Long, warm days invite members to wander beneath the canopy and enjoy the property at an easy pace. The shaded trails offer a cool and peaceful escape from the afternoon sun.
Winter
Spring
The Club awakens with fresh growth, birdsong and the quiet promise of a new season outdoors. Woodland wildflowers and returning wildlife make each walk feel full of discovery.
Autumn
The trails glow with colour, crisp air and one of the most beautiful seasons at The Franklin Club. Every turn reveals another view of the property transformed by fall.
Extend Your Time at the Club
A walk through the woods can be one part of a much fuller day at The Franklin Club. Start with fishing, stop for lunch at the clubhouse, explore the trails in the afternoon and stay for an evening by the water. Members can also extend their visit with overnight accommodations or traditional camping, turning a simple outing into a relaxed weekend on the property.
