Becoming a Member

Thank you for the interest you have shown in the Franklin Club. Equally owned by its 192 members, this 200 acre Club is equipped with its own lake, hatchery as well as recreational lodging and dining facilities.

The Franklin club - only 45 minutes north of Toronto - has been a well-kept secret by its owners since 1909. The Club will be accepting a limited number of new owners for a limited period of time.

One of the great features of membership in The Franklin Club is that it covers your spouse as well as all children and grandchildren under the age of 21 years. Children and grandchildren over 1 years of age are welcome as guests at the Club. Member or their spouses are required to accompany and supervise family and guests at all times and to ensure compliance with Club rules.

Interested individuals will be interviewed by a Director. The selection criteria are mostly based on one's appreciation for the sport of fishing as well as the preservation of the Club's natural habitat.

The Club is open year round offering excellent fishing. Winter activities include ice fishing in propane heated huts and cross country skiing. In the summer you can picnic, swim, hike with the family or relax and fish. Some owners use the club as a cottage without the hassle of cutting the grass, or painting the deck. Others use the club as a quiet location for a business meeting or to entertain a client.

As an alternative to joining as a full equity member, new members may elect to pay for the share and initiation fees over a five-year period. A member may transfer his/her membership to another family member, or an estate may transfer the membership to an heir, upon payment to the Club of a standard fee.

Annual dues are payable at the start of each fiscal year in an amount determined annually by the Board of Directors. Guest fees are also determined annually.

The Club, through its elected Board of Directors, makes a point of employing excellent staff who will make every effort to ensure that every visit to The Franklin Club will be one to remember.
